01Acceptance of Terms
vitae ("the App") is operated by Vitae Labs, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("vitae", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
02Description of Service
vitae is a health and wellness application that provides personalized daily protocols based on user-provided information and optional health data from Apple Health and other connected devices. The App includes:
- Personalized daily protocol generation based on quiz responses
- Time-blocked action items for health optimization
- Apple Health data integration (sleep, steps, HRV)
- Daily progress tracking with streaks and completion scores
- Cross-device sync via Apple Sign-In
- An optional paid subscription ("Vitae Pro") that unlocks additional features such as progress analytics, viewing other days, and protocol regeneration
03Medical Disclaimer
You acknowledge that:
- vitae does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease
- Protocol recommendations are based on publicly available research and are not personalized medical advice
- You use the App and follow its protocols entirely at your own risk
- You should discontinue any protocol action that causes discomfort or adverse effects
04Account & Authentication
You sign in using Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID. You agree not to share your account or allow others to access the App through your credentials.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior.
05Subscriptions & Billing
vitae offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, Vitae Pro, available in weekly, monthly, and annual plans. Certain plans may include a free trial. Pricing is shown in the App before you purchase and may vary by region and over time.
- Billing. All payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. We do not collect or store your payment-card details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable. Trials convert to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Manage or cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions). Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms. We do not process payments or issue refunds directly; refund requests must be made to Apple.
- Processors. Subscriptions are sold by Apple and managed using our subscription infrastructure provider, RevenueCat, Inc.
- Changes. We may change subscription features or pricing prospectively. Price changes affecting an existing subscription will be handled in accordance with Apple's policies and, where required, with your consent.
Your use of the subscription is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
06Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers against the service
- Circumvent, disable, or attempt to bypass subscription or payment mechanisms
07Health Data
If you grant Apple Health permissions, you authorize vitae to read the health data types described in our Privacy Policy. You can revoke this access at any time through your device's Health settings.
We handle health data in accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and our Privacy Policy. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
08Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, protocols, and branding within vitae are owned by Vitae Labs, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without written permission.
The protocol content (action items, timing recommendations, supplement suggestions) is curated from publicly available scientific research and is provided as-is.
09Availability & Updates
We strive to keep vitae available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
10Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vitae Labs, LLC and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to health outcomes, data loss, or service interruptions.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us (through Apple) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50.
11Termination
You may stop using vitae at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the App (Profile → Delete Account). Cancelling a subscription is done separately through your App Store account settings (see Section 05). Upon account deletion, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
12Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration seated in San Francisco, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
13Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
